Complications and widgets require background tasks to stay current. Without proper settings, updates may fail or delay. Here’s how to maintain consistent updates:

Enable Background App Refresh on iPhone

  1. Open Settings
  2. Navigate to General > Background App Refresh
  3. Enable main toggle
  4. Enable Livity toggle

Enable Background App Refresh on Apple Watch

  1. Open Watch app on iPhone
  2. Go to General > Background App Refresh
  3. Enable main toggle
  4. Enable Livity toggle

Important Notes

  • Verify iCloud login on Apple Watch via Settings
  • Low Power mode disables background updates
  • Widget updates follow Apple’s optimization:
    • 40-70 refreshes daily
    • 15-60 minute intervals
    • More updates on frequently viewed screens
    • Manual taps force immediate updates

Troubleshooting

  • Place widgets on main screen for frequent updates
  • Tap widget/complication to force refresh
  • Updates depend on screen visibility and usage patterns
  • System learns user behavior over several days

Livity and Apple Health show different heart measurements because they measure at different times. Livity measures only when you’re sleeping, while Apple Health measures all day long.

During sleep, your body is completely at rest – no moving, no stress, no coffee, no exercise. This gives us the most accurate picture of your natural heart patterns, just like taking a photo is clearer when someone is sitting still rather than running around.

So while the numbers might be different from Apple Health’s, Livity’s sleep measurements give you a reliable view of your baseline heart health.

To fix this issue, please follow these steps:
1. Close and reopen Livity app on your phone
